Because we still haven’t caught them all
It’s time to battle like it’s 1996 because Pokèmon is celebrating their 20 year anniversary in the best way.
The Pokèmon company have just announced that they will be re-releasing the original set of Pokèmon cards to celebrate their anniversary. The pack will include 60 cards identical to the 1996 set, a player’s manual and coin.
Pokèmon played a huge part of a lot of people’s childhoods, from the 90s through to the 2000s. Literally everybody’s primary school attempted to ban Pokèmon cards… and failed.
In addition to the cards, a special Pokèmon edition of the Nintendo 2DS and 3DS will be released with the original Pokèmon Red, Pokèmon Blue and Pokèmon Yellow!
So far, these special releases have only been announced for Japan, however, they are believed to be released to the rest of the world eventually.
